Our temple open house

The Oquirrh Temple is completed! We have had such a special experience watching it's construction in our neighborhood. As a special thank you to Day Break a while back we got a sneak peak. It is beautiful. It is the only temple in the world to have two grand staircases.

We have been busy!

Flag football, The Taylor Swift concert and a field trip to the state capital.

The birthday party

Birthday Boy

This little guys turns 7 today!!

7 Things we LOVE about him...

1. He is very funny...he pays attention to what makes people laugh. Currently he keeps saying to me "What now?!?". It's makes me crack up every time.

2. He will try any food you put in front of him.

3. He loves to hear his voice. Sings in the shower, on the toilet, and he even sings to the dogs.

4. He is very athletic. He has been involved in Karate, basketball and football this year and has excelled in all of them.

5. He is a smarty. We have always thought of Jonah as the out going child not the academic child. His teacher corrected us at our last parent teach conference. He informed us Jonah could test for the excelled program the district offers. Wow!!

6. Cuddler!!!

7. He loves animals!

Thankful

I am feeling greatful today and thought I better take advantage of that emotion! :) In particular I am greatful for my husband. Our life has been a rollercoaster these past few months and it doesn't look like the coaster is going to slow down any time soon. He has been so patient and kind....even when I loose patience and hope. I couldn't ask for a better man in my life! He keeps me sane!

I am also thankful for my 3 little monkeys. They have taken over my life and I love it! They make me laugh every day and make my world a better place. I love when I come home from work and hear them running for the door saying "Liinnndddssayyyy!!!!". Smile!!

I am thankful for family....especially my mom! She trully is my biggest fan and the best support system I could ask for.

Lastley I am thankful for friendship. In the past few months I have strengthened old friendships and made many new ones. There is nothing better than getting a call or email from a friend asking how you are.

Latest funny conversation

I have to record these conversations so we will always remember them. My blog readers may not be interested. Just go with it people! :)

A two year old was sitting in front of us in church this week. She was having a very hard time...temper tantrums and break downs.

I said to Jonah "She must be two years old!"

Jonah "How do you know she is two?"

Me "Because they call it the terrible two's. You have lots of temper tantrums!"

Jonah "Alexa must be going through the terrible nine's"

HILARIOUS!!

Weekend escape

We were able to sneak away this past weekend to St. George. We had a great time golfing and laying by the pool. But I missed the kids. I am not used to laying by the pool and not hearing my name a million times to come in the water. :)

Look who went to the first grade.....

Jonah took his best buddy ROOKIE to school. He loves his doggy and loved showing him off. The kids asked him lots of different questions. One in particular was "what's wrong with his eyes?". Poor Rookie...it's hard being a Pug!

Weddings

I realized I never posted pics of Scott's wedding from a few weeks ago. Scott is one of my best friends. It was so neat to see him get married! I got all emotional when I hugged in him the sealing room. We have been through tons together. We love Cara and think she is FANTASTIC!!

Alexa: Lindsay when will boys start liking me?
Lindsay: Ummmmmmm
A: I am going to start playing lots of sports so boys will like me!
L: You don't have to play sports for boys to like you! They will like you for who you already are!
A: Ok...but when will they start liking me?
L. Ummm....how about 7th grade?
A. Sigh....Oh I can't wait!!!!!!!

Growing up

I love listening to the kids having a conversation. They sound so grown-up.

Today I over heard Jonah and Alexa...

J: Alexa why do you always say "B.F.F."?
A: Because
J: Well what does it even mean?
A: Best Friend Forever...Alex is my B.F.F.
J: Why don't you just say BF or just turn it in to a word like "Biff"?

This is only the start of Alexa's brothers thinking she is a creature from a different planet. They often comment on her laughing and giggling all the time with her friends. It is so funny to see the differences between boys and girls!

Family Home Evening

Tonight we had $5 dinner night for Family Home Evening. We got the idea from my friend Alisa. Each family member gets $5 to spend at the store for a dinner item.

Steve got egg rolls
I got Jo-Jo potatos
Caleb got Texas Toast and cup cakes
Alexa got chicken and fruit salad
Jonah got tacitos

Not exactly a healthy dinner but the kids had the best time deciding what to get and eating their feast!!!! I highly suggest this activity!!!

Food Storage

We decided to have our resident chocolate milk expert test out an item for our food storage. The verdict was......right down the middle. He said it wasn't bad and it wasn't good. He did say "The more I drink it the badder it taste!". Such a milk snob!!!

Temple Celebration

Did you know we have a temple being built in our neighborhood???? It is the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Our youth in the area will be performing a large dance celebration for the dedication. I was asked to help make part of the costumes. Aprons! Steve loved modeling it for you. The performance will be televised world wide...so watch for my creations.
