Frontrunner

I have been dying to go on the Frontrunner since it opened. Today we finally took the outing. I highly recommend it! A family day pass is $16.50. You can take the train from down town SLC to the Latyon stop. Literally right off the stop is a little ma and pa diner called Doug and Emms. It has great down home food and we surrounded by a bunch of good ol'boys. Then once we were done with lunch we caught the train back to SLC. The kids loved it and Alexa even said "this was the best day ever!" ;)

A Merry Christmas!

Here are a few pics of our Christmas celebration. All of our extended family was out of town. So we celebrated with just the 5 of us. We had a great time! On Christmas eve we played electronic Monopoly. Pretty cool!

I made a yummy turkey dinner. After stuffing ourselves we headed down to temple square to see the lights. It was neat to see so many other people had the same idea as us.

Family shot!
Jonah writing his letter to Santa. He asked for another light saber so he could play against his dad. Funny how santa knows these things ahead of time!
The kids wanted Santa to eat one of the gingerbread houses they made.
Christmas morning after we all got cleaned up....we got cleaned up but the house still hasn't gotten cleaned up! Are they not the cutest kids ever?!
The hit of Christmas.....ROCK BAND for the Wii. We played this for hours!
Caleb singing!
And we got hit with lots and lots of snow at our house. Here is Sadie practically hidden by the snow fall. It was a wonderful Christmas and we really enjoyed starting some of our own family traditions this year.

Neighbor Christmas Gifts!

I didn't want to spend a lot of time or money on neighbor gifts...but I wanted people to know we are thinking of them during this season. Paper towel rolls and a little note are my solution! Hopefully are neighbors will think we are clever!

Gingerbread and early Christmas

The kids have already celebrated Christmas twice. My parents were in town a few weeks ago and we did Christmas then. Steve's parents will be in Denver for Christmas so we celebrated early with them also. All I can say is SPOILED kids!

Heather's Shower!

I had so much fun on Saturday throwing a shower for Heather. I am so happy it is her turn. I hope she soaks up every moment because all the wedding celebrations go by so fast!

Season for giving!

Several years ago my mom's family decided the gift giving was getting out of control. So instead of presents we do service. This year our family adopted a little girl through The Children's Justice Center. The CJC helps 1500 abused and neglected children every year. It was such a special thing to get the kids involved. They were trully touched. We involved several of our friends and my in-laws to make sure this little girl would get everything she needed and more.

Last day at Meadow Elementary

The kids had their Christmas program and last day at Meadow Elementary. They are excited to start at Daybreak Elementary in January!!!

On Saturday our friends Heather and Matt invited us to go to the MoTab concert with them. It was so good! We walked around temple square after the show...IT WAS FREEZING!!

Dancing Queen!

Alexa had her winter dance performance on Friday! She did GREAT!

These little feeties all wrapped up in her pink ballet slippers are my favorite!

Working the camera!!

Steve and I were sealed on December 6th in the Salt Lake Temple. We had to take a bit of a different route to the temple due to Steve being married before. We have had such a special year as we have worked towards our special day. I couldn't think of any other person I would want as my side kick FOREVER!

We took advantage of the day and had a family photo shoot.

It is official

These pictures are from the first time I hung out with Steve's kids. It was July 2006. It was love at first sight. It was meant to be! Since this outing at the Bee's game they have become MY KIDS. I fight for them every day...I fight for them spiritually, morally, emotionally, and physically. Every thing Steve and I do has their best interest in mind. For the past year we have been fighting our own personal war for them. We have told few people about our struggle to gain primary custody of the kids. It has been a fight that we felt STRONGLY about. Just in the past few weeks we have had some amazing things happens....blessings! We are excited to say all the paper work was signed today and we now have primary custody of the kids. We in no way want to take their mother out of their lives. Steve, me and the kids mom have had multiple meetings and she has admitted our home is a better place for them. We know with us they will have all they need spiritually and temporally. WE ARE BLESSED!

Taylor Swift Mania

Last night Alexa and I were in the car when Taylor Swift's "Love Story" came on. This is Alexa's song right now. So we turned the radio up and sang along. When it was over Alexa said the following that just cracked me up. (maybe it is just funny to a mom)
"Lindsay...Sometimes Taylor Swift is all I can think about. In my head I think Taylor Swift is so cool, Taylor Swift has such cute hair, Taylor Swift is so pretty!"
I love watching her develop her tastes and being such a girl!!!
